How do teachers continue to learn once they are teachers? Up until this year, RI teachers had to maintain a professional development plan (Personal PD Plan) and participate in various forms of continuing education in order to maintain their certification. Though RIDE is currently reformulating these requirements, URI is still required to show evidence that its teaching candidates can design their own learning plan.
